Brownies
If you are a chocolate lover like me, you probably cannot resist brownies - gooey, chewy and super chocolatey goodies. Brownies are also one of the easiest desserts to make, all you really need to do is to mix everything in a bowl. Crackly tops, soft and tender center, these brownies are dangerously good, almost addictive... Plus, you can easily make brownie variations based on this versatile recipe.
Makes 9 small brownies
45g unsalted butter
50-60g sugar
55 g dark chocolate (A)
1 large egg
30g all purpose flour
5g cocoa powder
15g dark chocolate (B)
This recipe uses one 10x10cm square baking pan
You can replace dark chocolate (B) with milk chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate (baking chips work better, regular is fine too)
Instructions
Combine butter and chopped dark chocolate A in a bowl, place a pot of hot water beneath the bowl. Melt butter and dark chocolate, stirring until smooth. (You can also melt the ingredients in a microwave)
Whisk in the sugar. Then add the egg, stir and mix until smooth. (Make sure chocolate mixture is cooled, or barely warm, because you don't want to cook the egg)
Fold in flour and cocoa powder with a spatula, until just combined. Do not overmix.
Line the baking pan with parchment paper. Pour batter into baking pan, add dark chocolate B (chips or chopped), spread evenly. Bake at 182 C for 20-25 minutes. Slightly let cool before cutting into individual pieces.
